Tom joined Hanson Wade in 2009 as one of the first full-time hires. Having graduated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge with a degree in history, Tom’s early career was focused on sales and data. He was responsible for marketing the first Hanson Wade events and built the foundation of the company’s technology platform. Tom now holds the role of CEO with a focus on product quality, company culture and scalable process. His priority is building a first class team and giving them the best opportunity to produce outstanding results.
Sarah was a co-founder of Hanson Wade in 2008 and CEO from 2008 to 2013. She has 23 years experience in the conference industry which include launching and running successful businesses in Chicago, Sydney and Singapore. Prior to founding Hanson Wade she led the London office for a US conference company. Sarah graduated from Durham University with a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature.
Darren joined Hanson Wade in January 2010 and is the company’s Chief Financial Officer. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), having qualified with Royal & Sun Alliance, a FTSE 100 company, where he spent the first 17 years of his career. Prior to joining Hanson Wade he has held senior finance roles at F&C Asset Management, PLUS Markets Group, where he was CFO and a member of the Executive Board and The Phoenix Group.
Joanna has worked in the conference industry since 1997 in both Asia and Europe. Having started her career in production, she launched and managed a successful conference division for the transport industry with a particular focus on rail and engineering. She has held a variety of senior roles with both operational and product focus. Joanna produced Hanson Wade’s first conference in 2008 for the shipping industry which provided the company with a strong platform on which to grow. From 2010 – 2017 she was responsible for recruitment of high calibre staff.
Peter joined the strategic advisory board of Hanson Wade in October 2016. He is currently an independent corporate finance consultant and founded Cardean Bell, a financial advisory consulting firm in 2016. Peter has 25 years’ experience in investment banking and was latterly Managing Director, UK M&A in the Global Corporate and Investment Banking division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Previously he worked at Nomura, Lehman Brothers, Greenhill and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. Peter is chairman of the Chalke Valley History Trust and is a co-founder and treasurer of the Chalke Valley History Festival.
Dominic graduated from Durham University with a degree in IS Engineering. Until 1997, he worked in the London bullion market for Mocatta, trading precious metals derivatives. Co-founding FastMarkets Ltd, a metals market data and intelligence provider in 1999, Dominic steered the company from start-up through to becoming a successful subscriptions business and on to its eventual sale to Euromoney plc in 2016. He joined the Hanson Wade SAB in 2017 to help support the growth and development of the Beacon product
